Karamadi Govt School New Building Inaugurated
Minister for Rural Industries and Animal Husbandry Pongalur N.Palanisamy on Saturday said that in Tamil Nadu, 23 per cent of budgetary allocation is for school and college education. Inaugurating the newly constructed buildings of the Karamadai Government Higher Secondary School, he said 30 class rooms were constructed at a cost of Rs.1.20 crore while laboratories, rest room facilities, and furniture were provided at Rs.12 lakh from the local area development fund.
Two class room buildings were constructed at a cost of Rs.10 lakh with the help of private sponsors. About Rs.4,000 crore was being spent on higher education while Rs.8,000 crore was being spent on school education. Of the five lakh engineering graduates passing out every year in the country, Tamil Nadu alone accounted for more than one lakh engineering graduates, he said.
