Coimbatore-based Lakshmi Electrical Control Systems (LECS), which makes custom-engineered control panels for Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW), is working a single shift only, since last Friday. In a notice to BSE, the company has traced its decision to cut the number of shifts from three to one. 60-70% of LECS’s products are made for textile machinery major LMW, which is said to be facing a slowdown due to slump in textile industry.
