Minister Inspected Renovation Works Of Koniamman Temple
The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Minister, K.R. Periyakaruppan, on Saturday inspected the progress in the renovation works relating to Koniamman Temple on Big Bazaar Street. Reviewing the construction works of the seven-storey rajagopuram at a cost of Rs. 1.32 crore, the Minister asked the temple authorities and the trustees to deploy more manpower to expedite the works. Mr. Periyakaruppan also inspected the works for laying granite flooring in the praharam at a cost of Rs. 5 lakh, ever-silver queue line arrangements worth Rs. 1.75 lakh, office room extension works at Rs. 7.70 lakh, construction of annadhana mandapam and marriage hall at a cost of Rs. 99 lakh and kitchen and store room facilities at Rs. 66 lakh. The Minister reviewed the design plan and estimates relating to the works for creation of golden attire for the presiding deity of the temple.
