Winners Of Essay Competition
The Youth Wing for Disability Services, a network of college students volunteering for the empowerment of persons with disabilities, conducted a State-level essay writing competition on ‘disability’ for college students. The topic was “How will I involve myself in services for persons with disabilities?”The first prize went to Sri Krishnavi of Karunya University. The second prize was shared by R.Selvaraj of National College, Tiruchi, and M.Aruna of PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. The third prize was also shared by S.Shanthi of Avinashilingam University and R.Samyuktha of GRG School of Management Studies, Coimbatore.
The winners for the district-level oratorical competition for school students organised by the network on the same topic were Mudassir Khan of Lisieux Matriculation Higher Secondary School (first), G.Pradeep of SBOA Matriculation Higher Secondary School (second), and R.Abarnaa of Shrimathi Ranganayaki Ammal Educational Trust (third), in the English category. In the Tamil category, S.Kabila of PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School, G.Nirmala of Sri Ramakrishna Matricualtion Higher Secondary School and P.J.Sriram Prabhu of Satchidananda Jothi Nikethan, Kallar, won the first, second and third prizes. The Youth Wing for Disability Services is facilitated by the UDIS Forum.
