The Coimbatore District Jama-ath has announced that Bakrid will be celebrated on Tuesday (December 9). A release from M.I. Mohammed Ali, general secretary of the Jama-ath, said that Dulquida Islamic month came to an end on November 28. The Dulhaj moon was sighted on November 30 and the Hilal committee had confirmed the same. Hence, December 8, will be the arafa day for fasting and December 9 will be Bakrid and special prayers (namaz) will be offered between 7.30 a.m. and 10 a.m.
