The infrastructure and faculty would be taken care of locally while study material would be sent from the university. Examinations would be conducted and degrees awarded by the university. The Vice-Chancellor expected that the enrolment would be 2,500 to 3,000 by the next academic year.
Bharathiar University and University of Maryland had entered into an understanding to offer a three-year degree programme in Aviation Science from the next academic year. “Students pursuing the course will study for two years at an affiliated college of Bharathiar University and one year at University of Maryland. Faculty from the U.S. will visit to engage classes”. According to the Vice-Chancellor, colleges with adequate infrastructure and faculty would be permitted to offer the course.
