The Media Centre, a unit of Vishwa Samvad Kendra, has instituted an annual award for 'responsible journalism'. The awards, named after A N Shivaraman, former editor of Dinamani and Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathi in English and Tamil categories, respectively, would be given from next year, K Padmakumar, organising secretary, Media Centre Tamil Nadu, announced at a function last night. A five member committee, headed by astrologer A M Rajagopal, eminent columnist S Gurumurthy, industrialist Vanitha Mohan, RSS State president R V S Marimuthy and Krishnakumar would select the awardees, he said.
