ET Quiz Competition

It's time for college students to brush up on their general knowledge put on their thinking caps. The ET in Campus' quiz competition, hosted by The Economic Times, will test the participants' speed of thought, depth of knowledge and their willingness to take risks. The Tamil Nadu edition of the competition will be inaugurated at the Sathyabama University on Old Mahabalipuram Road on February 16. The ET in Campus' quiz promises to be an entertaining affair, from start (1.30 pm) to finish (5.30 pm). Participants can look forward to a volley of interesting questions from quizmaster Giri Pick Brain' Balasubramaniam, who will host the show at all centres. Every year, about 250-300 teams, made up of some of the best students in the city's colleges take a shot at winning the contest. The quiz is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students belonging to arts, science, commerce, engineering and management streams, as well as other specialisations. A college can send any number of teams.

Students who have the newspaper reading habit will have an edge. Six teams will be shortlisted in the preliminary round, which will be a written test. There are several prizes to be won. Prizes will be sponsored by Reliance Communication, Sri Krishna Sweets, Radio Mirchi, Sabols, Residency Towers and Sony AV Store. Members of the audience, too, have a chance to win exciting prizes; these will be sponsored by Cognizant. The ET quiz competition will be held in Trichy and Coimbatore on February 17 and 19, respectively.
