Podanur Police Arrested The Culprit
The Podanur police have arrested one person and recovered the material evidence from the other accused in connection with the murder of Leela Rukmani (48) of Gurusamy Pillai Street in Podanur that took place on January 22.Following the murder, Commissioner of Police, K.C. Mahali constituted special teams led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, L. Balaji Saravanan, Inspectors, Venkatesan, K. Ramachandran and S. Namasivayam. The police arrested first accused Somu alias Somasundaram (24), while Isanullah alias Raja (20) who surrendered before the Sathyamangalam Magistrate was also taken into custody. Murder weapons, jewellery and cellular phone of the victim, and the duo’s vehicle were recovered.
