Women’s Day Celebrations:
Rythem Social Service Society for Women is organising International Women’s Day celebration at the Nirmala College for Women on March 18 at 10.30 a.m. The meeting would have resource persons from various walks of life speaking on women power and self-help group, social resources and needs of women.
Technical Meet :
SNR Sons College is conducting an inter-collegiate technical meet SYNCHRONICS 2k9 on March 18 at SNR Auditorium. A technical exhibition with products designed and developed by students with the help of latest technology like embedded systems, VLSI and digital signal processing will be displayed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition is open to school students and public.
Flash Protest Against Speeding Buses :
Irate motorists and public staged a flash protest at Chinniampalayam on Monday protesting against the over speeding buses on Avanashi Road. It was learnt that one of the buses on Monday caused an accident injuring a motorist. The public who gathered there squatted on the road and a stone was also pelted on one of the private buses. The motorists using Avanashi Road and residents on either side of the road accused the bus drivers of rash and negligent driving. The police and revenue officials who held talks promised to take action against buses and ensure plying of vehicles within permitted speed limit. Commotion prevailed in the area for some time. Later, the agitators dispersed and normal traffic resumed.
