Coimbatore Short News 30.03.2009

Accident:
Asirvatham (35) and his 11-year-old son Sanjay Paul were killed when the moped on which they were travelling collided with a lorry on the Ukkadam Bypass Road in the city around 6.15 a.m. on Sunday.City police said the father and the son died on the spot. Asirvatham’s wife Vimali (31) and daughter Rosaline (6) were admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital with injuries. Their condition was said to be stable.
Energy Theft :
Enforcement officials of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board have detected “direct tapping” of energy from a Low Tension service for commercial purpose during a check in Tirupur. The theft was detected at Thillainagar. Public could give information on energy thefts to the Executive Engineer, Enforcement – Coimbatore (94430 49456).
Training :
A training in processing of amla fruit products will be held at the Post Harvest Technology Centre of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University on March 30 and 31. For details call 0422-6611340 / 6611268.
