Koniamman Temple's Car Festival - Change In Traffic Pattern

In view of the car festival of the Koniamman Temple, the City Police have announced changes in the traffic pattern to on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. A release from the City Police Commissioner, K.C. Mahali, said that vehicles from Pollachi Road and Palakkad Road reaching Ukkkadam should take the Valankulam railway over bridge and proceed towards the city or take the Perur bypass road. Vehicles should not enter Vincent Road or Oppanakkara Street.


Vehicles from Lanka Corner and Goods Shed Road should take Big Bazaar Street, Vincent Road and reach Ukkadam. Buses would be allowed on the normal route. Buses would not be allowed to ply via Raja Theatre, Judka Corner and Oppanakkara Street and Vysial Street. Vehicles from old flyover proceeding towards Thadagam Road and Mettuppalayam Road should take only Brooke Bond Road and would not be allowed through Flower Market and Sukrwarpet. Heavy vehicles from Mettuppalayam Road should take Brooke Bond Road to reach Old Flyover and proceed further.



These vehicles cannot take the flower market or Sukrawarpet road. Vehicles from Thadagam Road proceeding towards Pollachi Road and Palakkad Road should take the Ponniahrajapuram, Chokkampudur, Shivalaya Theatre, Perur Bypass Road to reach Ukkadam. Vehicles from Perur, both light and heavy vehicles, should take Perur bypass road, Ukkadam, to proceed further or should proceed via Shivalaya Theatre junction, Chokkampudur, Ponniahrajapuram to reach Thadagam Road to proceed further via Gandhipark. The ban on lorry traffic from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. would continue to remain in force, the release said.
