Painting Expo Proceeds Donated

Two institutions treating cancer patients in the city and providing even free cancer care to the poor were on Sunday provided with funds got from a painting exhibition organised by The Hindu here on March 13.


The exhibition, ‘Young Picassos – Art with a Heart’, had on display the paintings done by students at The Hindu Young World Painting Competition held in November last year. The three-day exhibition was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry- Coimbatore Zone, Ravi Sam. More than 1,000 people visited the expo and the total proceeds on selling the paintings was Rs. 30,000.



Director of The Hindu Ramesh Rangarajan handed over on Sunday the proceeds of the expo to the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation (CCF) and Sri Ramakrishna Institution of Oncology and Research. He handed over Rs.15,000 each to C.V. Soundararajan, Chairman of the CCF functioning at the GKNM Hospital, and P. Guhan, Director, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Oncology and Research.
