Following a tip off, special teams of the Coimbatore City Police raided the Corporation swimming pool at Gandhipark and arrested 15 persons who were found gambling and recovered Rs. 21,010. The gambling was going on at night with the connivance of the contractor and watchman in charge of the swimming pool. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), K. Shanmugavel, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Law and Order/West), K. Kumarasamy along with Inspector Ramamurthy and his team conducted the raid. The arrested have been remanded to judicial custody. Police Commissioner K.C. Mahali lauded the police teams.
