Liquor seized in large Qty !
The police on Saturday seized Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) and rectified spirit, valued at Rs. 40 lakh, stocked in a farm house and allegedly meant for sending to neighbouring Kerala during the Lok Sabha elections on April 16. Based on information that spirit was being transported to Kerala, sleuths of the Prohibition Enforcement Wing of the police intercepted a vehicle at Sulur and seized liquor.
The driver informed that a large quantity of liquor and spirit brought from Goa had been stocked in a farm house in Panapatti, about 35 km from here. The sleuths recovered 13,300 bottles of IMFL of 750 ML, contained in 500 cartons and total value of the seizure was estimated at Rs 40 lakh.
