He informed that 3Com has revised the price of complete range of products according to the Indian market, which is considered to be price-sensitive. "There were quite a few rumors that 3Com is being closed in India, as it cut down the supply to national distis to take the RD model. Moreover, after an acquisition of a company called H3C, the cash status of the company is too good and the graph has been steady," Suresh claimed.Earlier, the 3Com products were distributed by the national distis such as Redington, Ingram Micro and Cyberstar Infotech, and the company decided to layoff Redington and Ingram Micro by appointing regional distis directly and distributing the products through them.
Suresh said that currently Ecaps is in the process of educating the market about the range of products available with 3Com, as there are rumors prevalent about the closure of the company. "They have exciting products in their portfolio, which have worldwide reputation. We will be involved in educating the market for another two months time about 3Com products and have then planned to concentrate more on the sales. We have also been getting slow but good response for our marketing activities."
Ecaps is planning to tie-up with 100 system integrators across the three states to actively market 3Com range of products. Meanwhile, the company is also planning to launch ADSL routers under its own brand, Netfox. Suresh said, "Netfox has complete range of passive networking products and Ecaps would also be launching active networking products in the country."
