Spelling bee winner
V. Keerthika, a student of Stanes Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in the city, has won the first prize in the district level of the Tamil Nadu State Championship of the MaRRS International Spelling Bee 2008-09 in category II.According to a press release, the competition was held at Sri Vidya Bharathi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Salem, recently.The Spelling Bee was based on the Cambridge Learner’s Dictionaries published by Cambridge University Press and was jointly organised by MaRRS Intellectual Services and Cambridge University Press, the press release adds. Keethika will compete in the National Championship of the competition, which is scheduled to be held in the last week of May in Thrissur.
