Tension at K.R.Puram !
Tension prevailed at Avarampalayam on Tuesday when a group of residents tried to enter fenced land that allegedly belonged to a private trust, demanding that the Corporation School should continue to function on that site. The school was recently shifted to Shobha Nagar after the trust reportedly obtained an order from the High Court stating that the land should be given back on completion of the agreement period.Based on the court order, the private trust tried to fence the land with barbed wire on Tuesday.
Some of the agitators tried to force their way into the 60 cents of land by removing the fencing.A posse of police led by Assistant Commissioners of Police, A. Gopalasami and K. Kumarasami defused the tension and on citing the court order, the agitators dispersed.In connection with the incident, the police have registered a case against ten persons for trying to trespass onto private land.
