8050 Lit Spirit Seized:
The Coimbatore Rural Police in a major drive seized about 8,050 litres of rectified spirit stocked in a makeshift godown in a farm at Annur on Wednesday. In the last one month, Inspector-General of Police, West Zone, Pramod Kumar and DIG of Police, Coimbatore Range, B. Bala Naga Devi have tightened vigil along the borders to prevent smuggling of rice, sand and rectified spirt.
BU Invites Application:
Bharathiar University is inviting applications for admission to M.Phil. from post-graduate candidates who have cleared the recently-held supplementary examinations. According to the university’s Registrar, admission is open till August 17. Candidates can collect the application by producing the supplementary examination hall ticket and the mark sheet.
