GeeDee student bags international prize
N. Priyadarsan, student of Geedee Technical Training Institute, has won a silver medal in the mould making competition organised by the World Skills’ International at Calgary, Canada.World Skills is an international event hosted every two years. It has 51 member countries competing in 45 skill events. It is a competition for the promotion and development of technologies and trade skills among youth, according to a release.
Some of the categories under which the 40th edition of the competition was held are mobile robotics, CNC turning, mechatronics, fashion technology, carpentry, Web design, cooking, automobile technology, plumbing and heating, refrigeration, wall and floor tiling, landscape gardening, electrical installations, mould making, etc.
Mr. Priyadarsan bagged the silver medal in the mould making category from among seven contestants from different countries. It was the first time India had won a medal in the competition, the release added.
