Petitions panel to visit city

The petitions panel of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly is scheduled to hold its sitting in Coimbatore very shortly.Hence, individuals, associations and organisations in Coimbatore could send five copies in Tamil of their long-pending grievances to the Chairman of the Petitions Committee, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Chennai 600 009 before September 22, a release from the District Collector, P. Umanath said.

Petitions should be drafted in a polite language. They could be about grievances pending with government offices for a long time related to public.Petitions should not be related to: individual grievances, issues pending before courts, employment or patta requests, old age pension, seeking bank loans or industrial advances, grievances of government servants, including those seeking transfers.

Within the framework of stipulated rules, the committee would take up the petitions for review. During the review, officials concerned would be asked for remarks.Petitioners would be intimated individually by the District Collectorate on the date, time and venue of the committee meeting.
