ASICON 2009 at cbe !!
New surgical techniques, modern technology, safe surgery and ethical practices will be the main themes of the annual conference of the Association of Surgeons of India – ASICON 2009 – to be held at the CODISSIA trade fair complex here from December 25 to 30.
Announcing this on Thursday, president of the association and Chairman of Gem Hospital C. Palanivelu said national and international faculties would perform surgeries at various hospitals in the city and these would be beamed live to the conference venue. Open and laparoscopic surgeries would be performed. A continuous medical education programme would be held ahead of the inauguration of the main conference on December 27.
This would be the biggest medical conference to be ever held in Coimbatore, with about 5,000 surgeons in diverse specialities participating. Earlier, the ASI’s conferences were held in metropolitan cities. This was the first time the association had chosen Coimbatore as the venue.
