Coimbatore witnessed a colourful display of aero sports as the Indian Air Force gave the youngsters an unlimited scope for adventure.It was an opportunity of a lifetime to see some of the best names in skydiving make a perfect touchdown.Some youngsters were even lucky to fly with the parachuters and see them jump out of the chopper at eleven thousand feet to make formations in the air.
The aim behind this was to attract the youth and make them consider the IAF as a career option."They learn to take calculated risks in life. Improves their organising skills and boosts their confidence tremendously. It motivates them and improves their life skills," said Jayashankar, Wing Commander, Directorate of Air force.
Public and adventure lovers also got an opportunity to take joyrides on microlites.Coimbatore has been the home for some of the finest names in motor and aero sports, which include Formula racer Narein Kartheikeyan and Wing commander Jaishankar.
IAF, on its platinum jubilee year, is hoping that this drive will help them to spot and mould more talent in this region.
