256 police personnel honoured
The City Police Commissioner, C.K. Gandhirajan, on Friday honoured 256 police personnel with cash rewards and good service entries in the service records of 59 police personnel for good work and sincerity at the inspection parade held at the Armed Reserve parade grounds.The honouring of police personnel was part of the ongoing efforts of the City Police to appreciate good performance to motivate the personnel to do better, Mr. Gandhirajan said.Of the personnel honoured, 256 were given cash rewards totalling Rs. 28,700. The rewards were given at the inspection parade wherein Mr. Gandhirajan reviewed the turnout and parade perfection of the personnel from the Law & Order and Crime wings of the Selvapuram and Variety Hall Road police stations, besides the Prohibition Enforcement Wing and City Police Dog Squad.
The Commissioner also gave away rewards to the sniffer and tracker dogs and their handlers for performance leading to breakthrough in various cases.The Commissioner said that the City Police believed in recognising good work and motivation for the personnel and towards this objective during the last four months, 4,273 personnel had been given cash rewards totalling Rs. 4.16 lakh and good service entry to 4,637 personnel.The objective was to turn the force perfect and efficient by making each personnel receive such appreciations in recognition of their efforts, he added.
