Udhagamandalam: Members of the Nilgiris District Horticulture Workers Association staged a demonstration opposite the Government Botanical Garden here on Friday.It was staged to draw the attention of the government to the delay in implementing an order relating to regularisation of their employment.The president of the association, T. Subramani, who led the demonstration said that for many years about 600 temporary workers employed in the farms of the department at Nanjanad, Thummanaty, Devala, Burliar, Kallar and Kattery and tourist spots like the Government Botanical Garden, the Rose Garden and the Sim's Park had been urging the government to regularise them.
