Coimbatore toppers shares the secreat


Success hasn't come easily for these toppers in the Class X examinations. All of them have tales of hard work and dedication to tell. They have been consistent performers in school and have never once slacked off in studies.Having brought laurels to their institutions, these toppers share their success stories.

For E. Abbinaya, who came first in Coimbatore Revenue District, no special preparation was required to face the D-day. "I was always thorough with my lessons and didn't need any special studying," she says. An active participant in extra-curricular activities, she believes that one should never confine oneself to textbooks. A student of Bharatiya Vidya Mandir Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Pollachi, she is interested in painting, music, badminton and quizzing. She plans to pursue Cosmetology as a profession. "Information Technology does not interest me at all. I cannot sit glued to the computer for hours," she says. She prefers the activity in the outside world - a little bit of gardening, playing and then reading. She is also interested in yoga and meditation.


For V. Balachandar, who came second in the Coimbatore Revenue District, the rank was unexpected. "I was sure I would score above 1000. But, this rank was a pleasant surprise," he says. He learnt he had a rank only when he contacted his school, Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya, Ammapalayam, Tirupur.Mathematics is his passion and he wants to pursue either marine or aeronautical engineering. "I study everyday. So there was no tension during examination time," he says. "I was very relaxed and read the day's newspaper before going for the examination." He feels that tuitions are not necessary and could be a waste of time. If you listen to the class teacher attentively, there is no need to seek help from outside, he adds.
