Collage fees in instalments
Lakshminarayanan Visalakshi College of Arts and Science is permitting payment of college fees in instalments for students from this year, D. Ilango, Principal, told reporters here on Tuesday.According to the “L. Visalakshi Educational Loan Scheme,” students need not pay the fees when they join the college but could pay it in the course of their studies in the college.No interest would be collected from the students for this special loan.“The fees for a course such as B.Com is Rs.3,500. The student can pay the first instalment after six months. If that is not possible, they can pay whenever it is possible for them to pay,” Mr. Ilango added.Through this new system, the college could also retain the students.They would not drop out of college due to lack of funds to continue their studies, he added.To avail of this loan provided by the college trust, the students need not furnish any security.
