Tutors recruitment drive @ BU
With huge demand for tutors in the US, Chennai-based Tutors Worldwide (I) Pvt Ltd is in search of candidates for online tutoring, one of the fastest growing sectors now.As part of its search, the company is conducting a grand recruitment drive in the city, in collaboration with Bharathiar University, on June 23, its Chief Operating Officer and Director V Mahalingam told reporters here today.
Graduates /post-graduates from 2006-07 batch, with an aptitude for one-on-one tutoring in English and mathematics, and who had undertaken their schooling in English medium and fluent in written English are eligible for suitable position.All positions are available in the night shifts (at Chennai) to suit the timings in the US, Mahalingam said adding selection process would comprise three rounds - initial screening, followed by written test and HR interview - followed by training for three months.
Selected tutors have to teach the students of 4th to 12th Standards and the company wanted around 600 candidates by the turn of the year, he said.On opportunities in the US, Mahalingam said only 20 per cent of the requirements were met in that country and about 2.5 million teachers were to retire within five years.University Vice-Chancellor Prof G Thiruvasagam was present at the press conference.
