Biotech conference at CIT
2-day conference on 'Biotechnology for human welfare', beginning here from tomorrow, would provide a major interdisciplinary forum for presenting new approaches from relevant areas of bioscience and technology.The conference, being attended by over 150 researchers and scientists, would highlight the cutting edge areas in the field of biotechnology, Dr S R K Prasad, Director, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, the organisers, told reporters here today.
It would also foster integration of the latest development in scientific research into engineering applications and facilitate technology transfer from well-tested ideas to practical products and remedial processes, he said.There would be plenary lectures, invited talks and oral presentations in agricultural biotechnology, food, environmental, pharmaceutical, industrial, bio-informatics and nano-biotechnology, Prasad said.The conference is jointly organised by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.
