Indian Coimbatore Chapter will organise a conference on “Green Buildings and Rating System” here on August 2. M. Selvarasu, a counsellor from the Confederation of Indian Industry Green Business Centre, will address the gathering.According to a release from the association, global warming has emerged as one of the important environmental issues. The Green Business Centre is a Centre of Excellence of the CII for energy efficiency, green buildings, renewable energy, water, environment and recycling and climate change related programmes.It has been awarded the Platinum Rating from the US Green Building Council under their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Programme. The objective of the centre is to provide services related to green building.It will promote “green concepts” leading to higher efficiency, equitable growth and sustainable development.
