The recovery of some explosive materials, kept in an abandoned bag in a government bus at Mettupalayam in the district, last night created some anxious moments, in view of the pronouncement of the verdict in the 1998 serial blasts tomorrow.Police said the driver of the Madurai – Mettupalayam bus spotted a cloth bag abandoned on the seat, inside which he found six detonators and an equal number of gelatine sticks. He handed the bag over to Mettupalayam police station.Since the special sessions court is scheduled to pronounce its verdict tomorrow, the recovery of explosive materials created panic for some time.The matter was being investigated, they said.
