Oppertunites fair at Coimbatore
The Hindu Opportunities Fair 2007 will be held at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex here on July 7 and 8.Six such events have been conducted this year by The Hindu at Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Hyderabad, Madurai, Bangalore and Vishakapatnam.Totally, over three lakh job aspirants walked in at these fairs to meet prospective employers from various industrial sectors.All the events had job aspirants not only from the city where the events were held but also from other parts of the State and the neighbouring States too in good number. During the last three years, 16 successful events were organised.
Over 25 companies from the engineering, business process outsourcing, information technology, IT enabled services and textile sectors will participate in this edition of fair here.Most of these are major players and each of them have huge plans of recruiting in big numbers making it the largest event of this kind in terms of the number of participating companies and the number of jobs on offer. While each company will have its own specific requirement, the event on the whole will have lots of jobs on offer for graduates, post graduates and professionals with up to 10 years experience.
Most of the companies will go through a process of short listing candidates, conducting tests and interviews. Candidates can walk in to meet prospective employers. It is advisable to carry at least 15 print outs of one’s resume to the fair.While the job aspirants have more than 10 of the biggest names to choose from, the recruiting companies get to select candidates from a vast number of people who will walk in.
