Mou between BU and CRPFWWA
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Bharathiar University and Central Reserve Police Force Wives’ Welfare Association (CRPFWWA) at the varsity premises here on Thursday.P Thirumalvalavan, registrar of the varsity and Parimala Bharathi, secretary of the association, signed the MoU in the presence of Vice- Chancellor G Thiruvasagam and association president Neeru Dubey.As per the MoU, the association will help the CRPF personnel and their family members pursue higher education in different disciplines through distance education.More than 90 UG/PG/diploma and PG diploma courses in a variety of subjects are offered by the university through distance education.The varsity has already established around 150 study centres in South India.The Central Training College - 2, CRPF, the venue of the study center is located in the foothills of the Nilgiris.
The college with its library having 8,000 books, adequate number of classrooms, sophisticated audio visual aids, residential and non-residential buildings etc. will become an abode of higher learning in association with Bharathiar University.The chapter of CRPFWWA has a proposal for becoming a co-ordinator to link all such chapters with the School of Distance Education of Bharathiar University in the near future and give an opportunity to thousands of CRPF personnel and their family members across the country to pursue higher education.
