The Southern Railway, Palakkad division, has announced that a special train will be operated on the Coimbatore-Chennai Egmore-Coimbatore section in view of the Aadi Pooram festival at Melmaruvathur.A railway release said that the special train number 0623 would depart Coimbatore on August 12 at 19.45 and would stop at Tirupur, Erode, Tiruchirapalli, Vridhachalam, Vilupuram, Melmaruvathur and reach Chennai Egmore at 9.30 a.m. the next day.In the return direction, train number 0624 would leave Chennai Egmore on August 15 at 16.30 hours and with the same stoppages it would reach Coimbatore at 4.30 a.m. on August 16.The special train would have 10 sleeper class coaches, nine general second class coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans, the release added.
