BSNL conduction 'Mobile teleshope'
The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Coimbatore, is conducting a “mobile teleshoppe” for the convenience of customers for booking new phone connections at Mettupalayam, Karamadai and Annur telephone exchanges from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 29, 30 and 31.A release said that new landline and Wireless in Local Loop connections booked at the teleshoppe would fetch waiver of installation charges of Rs. 500 (for urban areas) and Rs. 300 (in rural areas). Security deposit can be paid in six instalments. For local and 95 dialling facility, Rs. 100 would have to be paid at the time of booking and the balance of Rs. 400 in five instalments at the rate of Rs. 80 per month.This would be claimed along with the telephone bills. For connections with STD facility, Rs. 250 was to be paid at the time of booking and the balance would be claimed in five monthly instalments. The offer was valid till October 31.A telecom adalat would be held in November to settle long-pending grievances of more than six months relating to disconnection, reconnection and shifting of telephones, excess metering complaints and mobile post-paid billing complaints.Subscribers who had exhausted all channels of communication for redressal of their grievances are requested to send their petitions along with copies of their earlier representations as supportive documents. The same should be sent to N. Ranganathan, Public Relations Officer, BSNL PGM office, Bharati Park Road on or before November 5.
The complainants should mention their contact phone/cell number. The date of hearing would be intimated individually. Complaints from BSNL PCO operators, franchisees, agents, dealers and distributors and complaints of “routine nature and enquiries” for which decisions already given by earlier adalats and complaints from associations would not be considered by adalat.BSNL, Coimbatore, has announced the availability of public telephones, including local/STD/ISD PCOs, on demand in all the places in Coimbatore.Persons desirous of opening public telephone booths are requested to submit their applications to the respective commercial officers at Tirupur, Pollachi and Coimbatore.
BSNL franchisees and direct selling agents are also authorised to collect the applications for getting PCO booths. Provisions would be made through CDMA-WLL platform where new connections would not be feasible under the landline. Connections would be provided to the already waitlisted customers.
