ICAR entrance exam
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), will conduct the 13th All India Entrance Examinations for admissions to undergraduate programmes in agriculture and allied subjects, other than veterinary science, on April 19.According to a release from Dean, Agriculture, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, 15 per cent of seats will be filled based on these results. The four-year degree course will be offered in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, fishery, home science, sericulture, agricultural engineering, dairy technology, food science and technology, agricultural marketing, banking and co-operation, bio-technology and commercial agriculture and business management.
Candidates seeking admission to State and Central agricultural universities can take up the examination. Those who pass the examination are given a National Talent Scholarship of Rs. 10,000 a year. Applications can be obtained in person from the Dean by paying Rs. 425, by cash. SC/ST candidates will have to pay Rs. 225. They can also receive forms by post from Exam Cell, Education Division, ICAR, KAB II, Pusa, New Delhi – 110012, by sending a letter of requisition along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 450, and Rs. 250 in case of SC/ST candidates.Issue of applications will be on till March 7. Last date for receipt of filled in applications will be March 10. Results will be announced on May 10. The tentative schedule for counselling in New Delhi will be from June 26 to July 3.
