The School of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering of the Bharathiar University will organise a seminar on “Modern Tools in Biotechnology” on February 22.The seminar, sponsored by the Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education, will cover topics such as genomics and proteomics, plant molecular pharming, metabolic engineering, stem cell research, protein engineering, bioethics and Intellectual Property Rights. The seminar will be inaugurated by Director of the Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding M. Surya Prakash and will be presided over by Vice-Chancellor G. Thiruvasagam.Research scholars, scientists and post-graduate students can attend.
