‘Vasantham 2008’ begins
The three-day conference of the Rotary International District 3200, ‘Vasantham 2008,’ begins at the Tamil Nadu College of Engineering here on Friday.The conference will be hosted by all the Rotary Clubs in Tirupur town along with the Rotary Clubs of Avinashi, Palladam and Pollachi.The conference will showcase Rotary programmes and district club projects that were efficiently and successfully executed during the Rotary year 2007-2008.President of Rotary Club of Tirupur North P.V.Ravi will be the conference secretary.Minister for Rural Industries Ponglaur N.Palanisamy will be the chief guest on the first day of the conference.Rotary International Director Ashok Mahajan will deliver the inaugural address. Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha will deliver the conference address. Chief Controller, Research and Development, DRDO, Ministry of Defence and Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Brahmos Aerospace, New Delhi, A.Sivathanu Pillai, will deliver a special address. Former Ambassador of India P.A.Nazareth will deliver the keynote address on February 23.A cultural programme, “Dances of India,” will be staged on February 22.
