Winners of MaRRs Spelling competition
The following students emerged winners in the MaRRs International Spelling Bee spelling competition held in the city recently. These students will participate in the State-level competition, which will be held on April 26 and 27 at Vikaasa School, Poonnagaram, Madurai.About 450 students participated in the contest here.
The national champion will win a gold coin in addition to a trophy, certificate and other gifts. The students were divided into six categories based on their classes.
Category I (Class I and II): V.M. Nirupama (Avila Convent), first place, Varshini Gurusamy, Vidya Nikethan, second place and Taheem from Vidya Nikethan won the third place
Category II (Class III and IV): Treasa Tom, K.Krithika and S. Chandini from Avila Convent won the first, second and third places.
Category III (Class V and VI): C.S.Amna (Vidya Nikethan), first place, Darshini Balakrishnan (Avila Convent), second place and N.Arun Kumar (Vimal Jyothi Convent), third place.
Category IV (Class VII and VIII): Riya Daniel, Sneha Suresh Kumar and D.Christianez from Avila Convent bagged the first, second and third places.
Category V (Class IX and X): Sruthi Naresh and C.A.Arundhathi of Avila Convent and J.Keerthana from Vimal Jyothi Convent won the first, second and third places.
Category VI (Class XI and XII): G.Priyanka, K.Sindhu and Nethravathi of Avila Convent won the first, second and third places.
