The Deputy Commissioner of Labour, P. Marimuthu offered two acceptable courses to resolve the three- day strike by the headload workers following issues with the Coimbatore Goods Transport Association. About 1,750 workers have been on strike since April 16. The Labour Department held talks on Friday with both the workers and the Association. The department advised the workers to resume work from April 19 and asked the Goods Transport Association to work out a compromise.
