The Coimbatore Corporation has fixed Rs. 33.60 as the per sq.ft. rate for Property Tax for star hotels, Corporation officials said on Thursday. After the discussions on new tax rates at the Council meeting on Wednesday, it was said that the sq.ft. rate had been fixed at Rs.22.40 in the face of demands from some Opposition parties. The Corporation had proposed Rs. 33.60 for star hotels and some other commercial establishments.
