The BJP is ready to face general elections, its all India vice president Venkaiah Naidu said here on Saturday.Speaking to reporters here after attending a party workers’ meet in Palghat, he said the BJP was in pre-poll mode appointing state-level committees for election work and added that it would be over by August end.Taking a dig at the UPA-led Congress Government’s failure on the economic front, he said that the Prime Minister, Finance Minister and the Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission were responsible for this piquant situation with inflation touching an all-time high of 11.05 percent.
On farm front, he said agriculture is facing a multi-dimensional challenges both from within and outside while the farmers feel cheated and discriminated against. The non-availability of fertilizers had compounded the problems of the farming community, he added.Referring to the Indo-US nuclear deal, he said the UPA Government had bungled and the Prime Minister had to cut a sorry figure in the global arena making himself a laughing stock.Pointing out that the Congress has neither commitment nor capacity to run a coalition government, he said there is no unity and clarity in the UPA on any issue.
The coalition partners are fighting among themselves. All because of lack of effective leadership, he added. The argument linking crude oil price rise to inflation is unacceptable, he said, adding when European countries which are not oil producing nations could control inflation India failed in it. Stating that both UPA and DPA are in utter confusion, he said opposition wave has struck the nation with lot of resentment among the people over the skyrocketing prices. In this scenario, there is certainty of election being held by November, he said.
