Hansen Signed MoU With Govt
Belgium-based Hansen Transmissions, a subsidiary of Suzlon Energy, on Saturday signed an MoU with Tamil Nadu government to invest Rs 1,500 crore over the next five years to set up a manufacturing facility at Palladam near Coimbatore, the state government said. This is the first major investment by Suzlon in the state. The plant will make wind turbine gearboxes and would employ 800 people directly, and 200 indirectly. The MoU was signed on Saturday by the state’s industries secretary MF Farooqui and Hansen Transmissions CEO Ivan Brems. Earlier, the company had said the plant will be fully integrated — with facilities to cut gear wheels, make castings, assemble gearboxes and test these products.It had also said it had nearly a third of the global market for turbine gearboxes.
