Accidents:
Three persons were killed in three different road accidents at various places in the city.In a road accident on Tiruchi Road near the SIHS Colony junction, involving a two-wheeler and a tanker lorry, Mohan Kumar (37), a private finance firm owner, was fatally knocked down. His wife Meenambal (28) and Kadiravan (one-and-a-half years old) were injured. The duo was rushed to the hospital. In an accident on Nanjappa Road, Chellappan, driver in a government department, who was on a two-wheeler was knocked down by a private town bus. A private firm employee Ananthan (27), who was on a motorcycle, was fatally knocked down by another motorcycle at Saravanampatty.
Canteen burgled:
Vadavalli police are probing into a case of burglary at a canteen in the Bharathiar University on Friday night. It is learnt that burglars decamped with vessels worth over Rs. 10,000 from the canteen. They also made an attempt to break open another building in the university.

Following a complaint from Dimple Dhillon (31) of Punjab, the All Women Police are investigating into charges of dowry harassment against Birbander Singh and his mother. It is learnt that Birbander Singh, along with his mother, harassed his wife to get money from her parents.
