National Level Essay-writing Competition

The Youth Wing for Disability Services will organise a national level essay-writing competition for college students. The objective of the competition is to create awareness on disability, a release from the forum said. The topic is “How will I involve myself in services for persons with disabilities?” The first prize is Rs. 5,000, two second prizes of Rs. 3,000 each and two third prizes of Rs.2,000 each.Consolation prizes of Rs.1,000 each would be given to two people.

The Youth Wing for Disability Services is a network of college students who volunteer to help people with disabilities. The Dr.G.R.D College of Science acts as the nodal agency in coordinating the youth forum. The forum is involved in several activities to create awareness about disability.

It organises student seminars, essay-writing competitions, and oratorical contests. It works with the community, organises youth rallies too to garner support for the cause of disability, and conducts awareness programmes in schools. It conduct industrial visits to identify jobs for persons with disabilities. The essays should be sent to the convenor, Youth Wong for Disability Services, GRD School of Social Work, Dr. G.R.
