Awareness Campaign About RIA

Fifth Pillar India, Coimbatore Chapter, organised an awareness campaign at Government Higher Secondary School, Asokapuram, NGGO Colony, Thudialur, to create awareness among students, teachers and the rural population on the Right to Information Act and resist corruption.

A release from its secretary K.K. Raman said that Fifth Pillar India was regularly conducting such programmes to help people know about the Act and its usage. The campaign was aimed at imparting knowledge to citizens regarding ways to obtain government records from various departments without bribing officials. K.K. Krishnamoorthy gave an overview of the Right to Information Act 2005. All the participants took a pledge that they will neither accept nor give bribe. They would encourage, enable and empower every citizen to eliminate corruption at all levels of society.
