CII’s Conclave On ‘School Excellence’

The Confederation of Indian Industry has identified the school sector for fulfilling its responsibility towards society, C.N. Ashok, Chairman of CII, Coimbatore Zone, said here on Wednesday. Inaugurating a two-day conclave on school excellence at the PSG Institute of Management, he said the industry would offer techniques and tools to the educational institutions as the future of the country lay in the quality of school education.
Principals and teachers could use the opportunity to understand the importance of change and implement them in their institutions. They should be receptive to change and adopt them, he said. They also needed to be motivated, he added. Mr. Ashok observed that educational institutions should embrace the best practices. Corporates such as CRI Pumps had adopted close to 18 corporation schools and was helping them by providing resources. While corporate citizens were waiting to help, the institutions should grab the opportunity, he said. Organised in association with the CII Institute of Quality, Bangalore, the conclave aimed at motivating educational institutions to strive towards quality.
