Collector Invited Application

District Collector V. Palanikumar has invited applications from permanent residents of Coimbatore living in poverty and belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and converted Christian communities, for availing of government assistance for self-employment. Mr. Palanikumar said in a release that through the Adi-Dravidar and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department, the government had decided to provide free iron boxes and carpentry gadgets to those who wished to start their own enterprises.

For carpentry gadgets, the applicant should have completed vocational education and should have had prior experience. For iron boxes, the applicant was required to be involved in the job. The applicant’s annual income should not exceed Rs. 24,000. Those interested should submit written application forms along with copies of community and income certificates and a certificate as proof of prior experience. A copy of the family card issued under the Public Distribution System should be attached. Applications should reach the concerned Adi-Dravidar welfare Tahsildar or the Adi-Dravidar Welfare Department.
