National Foundry Conclave 2008
The Confederation of Indian Industry will organise National Foundry Conclave 2008 here on December 4 and 5. Member of the steering committee of the conclave N. Krishna Samaraj told presspersons here on Monday that about 300 participants were expected for the event. The theme was “Sunset to Sunrise”.
India was among the top five producers of ferrous and non-ferrous castings and had over 4,500 units. About 80 per cent of these were small-scale. Some of the sessions at the conclave would be on foundry inputs, energy, environmental concerns and solutions, technology and best practices. C.R. Swaminathan, deputy chairman of the CII (Southern Region), said technology and cost cutting measures would help the Indian foundries face the global recession.
