Sainik School Entrance Examination

The All India entrance examination for admission to Classes VI and IX of Sainik School, Amaravathinagar, for the academic year 2009-2010, will be held on January 4. According to a release, boys aged between 10 and 11 years as on July 1, 2009, are eligible for admission to Class VI. For Class IX, they have to be between 13 and 14 years of age as on July 1, 2009, and should be studying in Class VIII in a recognised school. Candidates belonging to general or Defence categories should remit Rs. 325 for the prospectus and application forms. For those in the SC/ST categories, the fee is Rs.285. The amount is inclusive of registration fee, cost of old question paper and postal charges.

It can be sent through demand draft drawn on State Bank of India, Amaravathinagar (branch code 2191), in favour of ‘The Principal, Sainik School, Amaravathinagar,’ along with a self-addressed envelope with a clear indication of the standard to which admission is sought and the category. Medium of examination should also be indicated for Class VI. Applications are available at the website http://www.sainikschoolamaravathinagar.edu.in/.
